Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum and I am moving the first steps in using ansys for a thesis work. I am currently using version 15 in the workbench mode.
then, what I have to do is connect between them surfaces that amount from rhinoceros once at a time (if the amount together generates errors, so no). In essence, I must combine the surface of the hull of a ship with the structural elements within it.
Just to understand if I'm doing well I think it's enough to consider the union of two plates.
say for example a stuff like that:Immagine.webpI did so, I imported the two half surfaces individually, then I selected them and created a new element with form new part.
what I did is enough to consider them a single element or should I add other elements like connection voices or other?

thanks to all in advance

I recommend you look at something on youtube: it is in English but gives you an idea of the various software commands.

I can recommend the text:

finished.element.simulations.with.ansys.workbench.1214 of h.h.lee

at the end I put a connection between the bonded type elements and tried to consider it as a beam stuck with a load at the ends to make a test and see if it is correct. we managed:
