Sure. years ago it happened to me and in that case it was the fan that did not turn properly did not allow the processor to cool sufficiently, so it stuck everything.

It happened to me, too. I switched a pc to work. I had my partner, he still used a p4 with 512 of ram... and in short came a nice i5 with 8gb ram, discrete video card for some 3d sporadic with sketchup, a machine with good hardware in sum... But he was stuck every 20 minutes.
was installed win7 with a 30in additional programs installed by the manufacturer... Bah...
I made square clean, I formatted, put windows7 smooth, and now the pc travels that is a wonder!

Check that you don't have any plans of the cabbage installed... or running services you don't need. . .

so hard to say, the pc if it is a assembled, the ram is 100% compatible and certified with the specifications of the motherboard?
