Hello everyone, in revit2009 I tried to use a groove on an opening to get the effect of a step, at this point the only selectable profile for the groove was the default profile.. .
following the indications in another discussion I applied the groove to the structure of the wall.
of course it was not my intention to have such groove on all the walls of the family present in the model so I removed it... at this point I got that the groove from me desired appeared in the list of profiles of the grooves and I got the result as from attached image.
Okay, I can make it go well, but...
I wanted to ask, is there any way to apply the profiles directly during the execution of the modeling command?
thanks for any attention, greetings.

you must limit the stretch of wall (vertically) by using the command "divid", rename it and apply the groove (profile) to that part of the wall

Thank you gfrank, but maybe I didn't explain well.. I managed to apply my groove (with my step profile) to the only part where I was interested; but to do that I had to first load the groove in the structure of the family of walls...I wondered why I can't select my desired profile inside the extrusion command hosted>scanalatura wall present in the modeling palette.
I hope I've been clearer... .
I am waiting for your help,
friendly greetings... and good weekend! !

directly from the properties of the wall> change
and activating in the preview the section view (of the wall) activate the buttons, including "scanalature"
select, then press > add
and in the profile field, with the curtain selector, appear all the profiles loaded in the project, and manageable with the parameters of the other fields

Okay, from the property of the wall as you say we are and I did so to get my result.
can't you choose profiles that have not been loaded at least once in the structure of a wall? ?
Sorry and thank you. .

no, you must enter the default one (the last used), then if you want to change it, you have to go to the properties of the groove, and through the edit command, construction field, select the other loaded profiles

in my opinion the selector that appears after selecting walls>scanalatura, indicates only the category groove, that is the "real" command to insert the groove, but does not allow the selection of the profile.
