hardware key replacement

did any of you happen to have to replace the hardware key? ?

in company we have a cam lantek for punching machines with hardware key of those to insert in the lpt port, I asked what cost a new usb key (obviously giving back the old one) and I got shot 550€ more iva!!! !
I just replaced the pc and find a motherboard with integrated lpt now became a mission impossible! !

how did you solve this? ? ?

don't tell me simply paying because I mostly spend more but change cam!! !

no, it is not a configuration problem is just that having the correct bus the software that detects the key not the law!! the problem is precisely that I am integrated with the motherboard or nisba...if I understand correctly it must be loaded from the so at the start so all the various emulations do not work.
I even tried the various emulator dongles and where the card there is no problem but on my notebuc that no longer has the card does not even work to pay it! !

I confirm what is said by bich: the usb-lpt converters are not good, as they create a virtual lpt, which is good for printing, but not for the hw keys, as there are not the right electrical connections at the door pin level.

There's something to add, which I found out for personal experience, that almost all parallel hw keys only work with ecp-like lpt doors, while 90% of the parallel cards that are around are in epp mode.
and this especially if you talk about the 20-25 euro cards that are located in stores or various eprices, etc.
When 3 years ago I had, in fact, a problem similar to the end I had to take it from the district at a cost that I think was around 75-80 euros.

as at the cost for replacement we are always at the same point: We're practically in the hands of pirates who don't let go of any chance to cut us.
I understand the case in which one asks a new key with the motivation of the pc change, but try to evade the return of what he already has (it would be like asking for a new license), but in the face of an exchange "one to one" should charge only the pure cost of the key, which is at the maximum of a 50 euros. and perhaps even that, given the margins they have both in the sale of licenses and, above all, in the maintenance/assistance contracts.
