Good morning to all,
My name is Marco I am 22 years old and I am a university student .
automotive engineering studio and I used software like nx with teamcenter and solidworks for various courses and I will do with nx my thesis:)
for my thesis I have to model some body knots with nx 8.5 using the chunky method starting from drawings of the body of a car!
to do so the professor advised me to integrate what I learned during a nx course (a little, very little) studying on the internet some commands and functions; In particular:
. wave engineering & interpart expression
. suppressed by expression

Since I found almost nothing on the internet and that my nx does not recognize the guide, can anyone give me a hand with these commands and/or recommend a manual in which to learn how to use them?
as a reward will be quoted in my thesis;)

I thank you and say my greetings!

What do you want it to be?...

the wave geometry linker is a command that connects geometry between components; is similar to the extract geometry command (which binds geometry within the part), which also finds it under insert>associative copy. fundamental concept of these commands is the current timestamp. few lines in the forum are not enough to explain where the commands are and what flag to put.
(wave engineering, or at least so it was called once, is that package located in the mach3 13300 that allows you to manage the ties between the various parts and, according to me, it has little to do, or better it is absolutely superfluous, with the work you have to do). the interpart expression allows you to bind expressions between the various parts (as rightly says the name) and find it where shown in the image.
third thing the suppress by expression allows you to assign a value (1 or 0) to one or more features, value that works as an on-off switch.

probably use a faculty license, I recommend you download the cast (until 8 it seems to me because then it was replaced with other package) which is a great self-learning tool.

Hi.
First of all I thank you very much for your answer!
Thanks for the screen, at least I have precise idea where the command is!

If I understood correctly, with regard to the last command, there is some kind of language to use no programming language style (maybe I did not understand anything, in case I apologize ) .
For example, it can be used to say: if the thickness is less than 10 mm, do you make a hole?
And how do you get this to your computer?
I'm so sorry for your kindness!
cordial greetings

That's right. la o le features le sopprimi via expression with the specific command you find in edit>feature; this command will put you an expression pxxx whose value will be 1. go to expressions and instead of that value you will put, for example, if(pyy==tot)(1)else(0).
