how to change a family without changing position

Hello everyone, I'm trying to make a topographic lot. having inserted the trees, I had to create a group and then a link (for reasons of sharing). I have to change the color of these trees, I go to the link file and change family. at this point I change the color but when I go to load it in the file, they move all the altitudes of the trees! Who helps me?

Then you don't need to change the family. create a new material called e.g. green to which you assign the shade color of the green tone you like, then go to Manage > objects styles and look for the category "green". in the category line, at the bottom right, you will find the column "material" probably empty; assign it the green material just created. save the file and reload it to the host file
