hi to everyone, I just started using think3 and I need help.. I wanted to know how I can do to create a helical pocket on a cylindrical surface (in practice a kind of thread). which commands should I use?
Thank you.

Hi.
with the helical command (insert-> curve) you can create a helical-shaped curve, in which you can decide the step of the altezz, this command also allows to define if the curve is associative.
created the curve you have 2 possibilities
1) create a profile perpendicular to the curve and use the generic solid command (and then do the booleanna to subtract/add) or generic extrusion or generic pocket.
2) create a superficial separation plan (insert-> superfice-> separation plan) associative based on the curve, and then with the solid sludge command add the thickness at this point with the bolean command (sottrai or add to the cylinder)

I hope I've been clear. If not, let me know that I'm putting you a movie on youtube...

Hi.

Hi.
You could post a video. the concept is clear to me, it is to execute it that I have some difficulty.
Thank you.

Here we go..

I made you two, one with the surface and one with the general solid.. see what you like + :)

I don't know how to thank you. to have colleagues like you. I am 25 years old and at work the word I hear most is "arranged". as it is possible that those who have experience are no longer willing to give it up.

who does it for 3 .. said an old saying ..
I think that part of it is true, because making bones helps you create certainties that allow you to grow.

a council, put yourself behind your colleagues and look how they do... think about it... and do better than them... Well positive...
