as you say you can do if you make a single view, then in that case it is correct.that I know, at the normative level, there is no need to put the a-a section on such a view.
on drawing books similar views make them as classical projected views with semisection without an a-a indication.
So I think if you do only your view projected with the rectangle and the split without the indication of section you are "normal" anyway.
