I need clarification on the operation of i-features.

I extract an i-feature from a model and save it with the parameters that interest me.

If I want to change the sketch of the i-feature where I intervene?

on the part where I extracted it? changing the processing changes the i-feature and consequently every part where I used it?

on the i-feature itself? I can't find the sketch to change.

when I change an i-feature I have on the previously created parts I used it?

Thank you very much for your help

the ifeatures (files *.ide) once extracted, no longer have any connection with the source part;
If you want to edit , you need to open the ifeature file (i.e. the ide file) you can make some changes like
names, parameters, tables, keys, units of measurement, links, limit values etc. but if you have to change the sketch,
you have to restart from the original part, re-modify the sketch, re-extract overwrite if you want the ide file (ifeature).
you must leave "obviously" with the right foot!!
If you do not change, there is no connection;
are used and cast; once inserted they will shine with their own light .. so they will have no update
and therefore if you have to update, you have to do it to manazza by doing everything with holy patience.

Thank you very much, as always very clear.
If I can take advantage of your knowledge for advice.
I'm looking for the right path, but I always come to a dead point.
I have a processing with a profile that I need to reuse in other parts that are then coupled with the first.

drifting the sketch creates me some problem because I can't place it where I want.
I also tried to draw it on a user ucs but nothing changes, when it comes there remains.

I have therefore thought of an i-feature, but if I need a change in the profile I lose the association between the various parts.
As this profile will be reused in other products I need a valid method for which by changing the base accordingly I change the parts that we have to pair.

How would you handle this?

If you make an ipart?? maybe instead of a feature

or parts derived?
Can I use an i-part to do a job?
for example an extrusion....

with the derived part what do you mean? I have tried to derive the sketch, but it makes me difficult to change the origin of the same.

found a solution, the place in case it was useful to someone:

I create my extrusion in the first part, comes the sketch in the second and create an extrusion by making a new solid.
then use the function moves solid to place it where I need it.
now I just have to deepen this command and see if there is a possibility to fix it to a origin, point, geometry or other.
