if 17 slow file opening

Hi.
in our company we have se17, and we have the archive consisting of 48000 files in 7700 folders and subfolders on virtualized machines with os windows server 2003.
the problem is the extreme slowness with which the assembly opens.
Note that 6 designers access these machines at the same time for the opening of the assemblies.
how can I speed up the extreme slowness of the order of 5/6 minutes.

if you have an efficient network ( gigabit, and proper performance hub). You might have slowed down due to broken links.

do this test:
copied with rm a local set, try to open it and measure opening times.
then try to detach the network cable (physically) or even disable the connection and then reopen the same together.

If the times are very different and you will feel a sense of formula 1 then they are definitely broken links.

Did you try to disconnect the network?
These complaints are usually introduced to broken links. result: solid edge you lose in the network to wait response from a pc that is not there.

personal experience: change server name, recapture all links with revision manager. We were actually lost some. and the result was what you described.

I'm sure it's not a problem with interrupted links because I copied all the files of the axieme in multiple places and several times: locally, on another server other than the usual one, in another ws; I checked the links and I'm okay.
the only thing that solves the problem is to delete copy links between the parts.

Did you try to detach the network cable?

texture links are not manageable by any official tool. if a piece searches for a.bmp texture on a server that no longer exists you will have experience slowing down without any error message.
