I have to add an image (tif or similar) on a face of a solid, someone can tell me how to do it, I just managed to import it as a backdrop of face as it happens for scenography.

I just have to depict the image, I don't need it as a base and then draw a sketch.

you should use the decal function(photoworks),
However if you type decal on the online guide of solidworks and explained well.

Good evening,
two methods can be used:
1) Insert the image into a part sketch and then display it on the table.
2) insert the image on a face simply dragging it and releasing it on its face (alternatively function or body etc.)
clearly the method is in function to what you want to get. . technical table render etc.

if you need it on a surface/face, do this:

if you want to insert it as a background, you have to save the image in .tiff (not all photo-touchs convert in sympathetic format to solidworks)
