Hello I am new and I would need advice... I explain immediately I started using revit for about 20 days and I am already believe to a good point seen the results of the first renders.. The only problem I found in the roof cover! beginning with the saying that not wanting to apply a simple texture of the cover I downloaded an example of plug and tile from sketchup and I inserted it in a new family that I created....1 problem the new family has no material in the properties; 2nd problem when I insert the family into my project everything ok then I go to make the rendering but it makes me see the family created as I had assigned a generic material of gray color...I tried all of them to change the look in the section graphics and visibility.... but nothing!!! who can help me

1st problem the new family has no material in the properties
you must add the parameter relative to the material.
2nd problem when I insert the family into my project everything ok then I go to make the rendering but it shows me the family created as I had assigned a generic material of gray color...I tried all of them to change the look in the section graphics and visibility.... but nothing!! !
1 problem

already done but the result does not change when I make the result is the usual as if I had assigned the material

politely zipper and attach here the .skp file that we give him a look.. .

a revit the rode that is a 3d model created with sketchup. try it with a nested family or instead import it already done (see that it is a 3d model of a unique banality) why don't you create it ex-novo?

charge the family in the project...style of imported objects> objects
even if previously loaded into a revit family still reads it as imported object (image 1) then changing the material from here then will render it to you.(image 2)

Hi.

open with on release 8.0.4811, it looks like this, without associated materials of any type:

Hi.
But the family he did doesn't convince me....instead of making a cap + embryo has already done all the roof? !

That's right! is all the roof but even if I insert the single element the result does not change

Sorry but there's something wrong with the sk files you use to create the family.
I tried to import inside your family a cube made with sk and with the procedure I described above takes the materials quietly, while your hoods no.mi wonder if the fact of importing these objects as blocks can make revit mess.
in any way try to read here:
http://www.cad3d.it/forum1/showthread.php?t=3381weight the model more than the use of the bump but it is a good solution.

hi, use revit 2009 and 2010.
is it possible to have the file posted previously "manto di tegole" saved with one of the two versions I use?

I tried to open it but it tells me that it was saved with a newer version. . .

Thank you in advance.. .

I think it is useless. ..let it go

I downloaded the coup family on this site, and with the master command, I managed to form the whole layer with the tiles. only in that case I had a cabin roof and it was easy.

I am now facing a roof in pavilion, and positioning the hoods with the master command is a difficult task. Even worse is to place the cloves.

Can anyone help me? a faster and more parametric method does not exist?
I'm freaking out. make a rendering with the flat roof, with the simple texture doesn't go right down....! !

thanks for the advice for the realization of a beautiful cover in 3d, now I have another problem I think much simpler and that is I created a new family of roasts in terracotta everything ok until I have to create the so-called special piece in the connection corner of the fence walls. ...I would have to cut my extrusion to 45° but honestly I don't know how to do.... .
allego files of the top. Some people can help me.

Hi.
I also tried to follow the procedure you indicated to apply the materials to a file imported from sketchup (other than that of the discussion), but despite everything rendering leaving the gray color.... what else can you do? Thank you very much
