a greeting to all friends of the forum of cad3d.
Have you ever tried to import in 3ds an autocad file with objects with attributes (i.e. with objects attached to a database)?
My problem is to be able to "pass" the information of individual objects even in 3ds or, alternatively, to name 3ds objects (entity) with information present in the corresponding autocad object.
I hope I was clear and I wanted to understand if, for example, with the 3ds macros it is possible to "read and associate" this information.

the word to experts...

..ciao, unfortunately you cannot do it directly, in the sense that if to an object you have given "specifics " connected to a database (revit style or archicad), when you expose, even if you use the dwg, such information is lost...but, there is a maybe....senso that I know for certain that there is a free script that allows to work as in a bin program (i.e. objects with features connected to a database) ! Unfortunately I think they will be reinserted in max, which however then creates an exportable .xsl file for excel..... I hope I have been helpful to you..ciau... let me know if you solve....thanks. . ! !
