I don't think so, and in my opinion it wouldn't make any sense!

.rvt is the native format of revit, so it would be less strange that it was "imported" within the sw and not open. then if you need to connect two (or multiple .rvt files) follow tristan tips.

dwg is the native autocad file, yet re-insertes them (as a block or not) as well as being able to connect them, so I don't think it's as you say "...strano... "

revit also allows to export the content (not the file) of the project in a group, which can then be reimported in revit (as a group)
it is also possible to export the content of the project to dwg files and then manage it as a block (dwg-3d) and reimport it in revit.
maybe, you have to know, to better evaluate, your need is to join two rvt files, which can not be imported into the stect file, but:
- connected;
- exported as a group and reimported (also in the same file) ;
- exported as "block" dwg and reimported (also in the same file)

in fact it is as it says gfrank; the insertion of a group resembles the insertion of a block in acad, but in my opinion it is better (as also happens in autocad) the external connection

I knew that the native files should be opened and not imported, but in fact they can be inserted (as a block or family) within the project.
