Hello everyone,

I am looking at ansys and the modeling fem. for the thesis I am making a model of the vicoforte sanctuary of mondovì.
I have a problem with importing solid elements shaped in rhinoceros4 and saved in igs format. when amounting solids in ansys solids seem "packed" by two surfaces here is an image

and here is an image in rhino of objects

I tried to change the format using the parasolid format as I was advised by a friend, but the problem remains. Has anyone ever happened anything like that?

Thank you in advance for your attention

eliminates unnecessary areas. "adele,p"
the thing is complicated but very little if the volumes are missing ..
What's going on?

to the eye and cross it seems that the exported areas are not properly "trimmed".
working with ansys you can fix everything as eih64 says, alternatively try to see on rhino (I don't know how to do it though) if each edge is connected to at least two areas.
could be that these are seen as fast and unified areas.

First of all, thank you very much for the answers, I finally managed to solve the problem by creating a new file containing only the solids to export, and then exporting from that file everything!. I didn't think it was different because with rhino you don't save the entire file in igs, but you select the items to export and a new file is created.. mah mysteries
