importare iges generati da solidworks in inventor 2009

Hello everyone is a piece that I no longer write on this section of the site therefore for those who do not remember me I introduce myself again.

my name is giampiero and I have a technical study that deals with mechanical design mainly in the agri-food sector and in the field of logistics. of course as many others provide support to technical studies and neighboring companies.

I have a problem with inventor 2009.

I uploaded an iges file of a set created with solidworks (I don't know the version I think it's 2007). the purpose of this operation was to save the whole as a derived set and see what was going on for large lines using the ansys module included in the inventor. the problem is that at video I have a set with display "iron filter" with yellow tonalita that I can not save as a derivative assembly and therefore I can not analyze with ansys. By saving the aid with another name I always get the same situation. other curious aspect is that video graphics cannot be modified. is the first time that iges file amount in inventor to analyze them, do you have any suggestions?

If I can give you a tip import using the step format, for these things is more stable, iges is better to communicate with fem programs.

Hi, I am also trying to derive an iges as I have to climb it in inventor but I can't.
On the other hand I can tell you that to change the color to the object you must first in the browser remove the tic on "translucent" by clicking on:
surface bodies
-destroy on "composed"

later on:
construction
- group
--wire(take visibility with the right)

finally click with the right on compound
-properties
changing color to the object as if it were a processing.

inventor does not recognize the processing of the iges but the surfaces, so you can change the color by clicking on each surface interests you.

your advices are precious to me but to solve the problem I followed how much caste81 told me and that is I imported the file in step format. certainly is the easiest way however thanks the same for your interest.
