Good evening to all,

recently we started using inventor 2014 (standard version).
I have a problem.
we usually provide .x_t or .step files as 3d templates to create molds.

I open it by importing it into a new part and then I eliminate the faces that are not part of male(punzone) and matrix respectively creating 2 different parts. All right here.
create holes, screws etc.

the problem comes when I have to go to replace the imported solid starting.
Is there a "fast" or simple procedure to avoid having to recreate everything?? ?

Thank you very much

Omar

Is that such a weird question?
Didn't happen to anyone?
I don't know inventor, but in solid edge I would do this:

amount x_t in a new part, and save it as p1. Then I open a new part, save as p2 and insert the associative copy of p1.

At this point, every time you get a new x_t just open it and save it as p1, and p2 should update automatically. Of course all the processes associated with the various starting surfaces will fail, and you will have to redefine them.
