I have a problem with autocad 2004 I hope someone can help me, in practice I have drawings with 3 external references, I need to flatten everything in the sense of incorporating all 3 references in a single file, from manual and for practice just go in the xrif management window, click on the interested xrifsci and give the command " Is there any detail in the design that could affect the command? autocad does not give me any error accepts the command but when I open the xrif management window the file is always the "attached", I thank those who will help me

hello gianfroz, generally does so when xrefs were updated and were not recharged or when someone opened them.

Unfortunately I tried to update them but nothing to do, the problem is that I don't know how to overcome this problem... maybe if there was an alternative.. .

did you try to make a recover (_audit) and purge inside the xrif? there can be entities that create problems within them!

no I also did this test on a new file, but nothing I think is really a problem with that file. . .

ok I attach you part of the file in question as being of over 5 mb I reduced it to less than 1 mb deleting part of the design (so it does not serve for this purpose), but the defect is always the same, I look like one vs. reply thank you

I imagine that xrifs are saved on different pcs connected to the network... is there any limitations in file management?

I opened it in a higher format (e.g. 2009); when you attach it as xref, it no longer gives error

Thank you very much, so I assume that the problem is my 2004 autocad that among other things is lt, so doing a rescue to a higher version I should solve the problem, thanks again

but you can't do it, because your lt 2004 can only save from 2004 down (2004, 2000, '98, etc...) and if you do it to someone else who has a more recent cad, you won't be able to read the xrif anymore.

in fact I had thought, cmq the only thing is to try to do it with autocad 2002 that I have and see if I solve the problem I will let you know
