Hello, everyone.
I write to have a consult to those who have experience, or simply to those who feel like giving me advice, to advise me on what to do.
for a couple of months I have changed company and my role in this new company is that of the mechanical designer. in the strictest sense of the term, i.e. I make the drawings of the technical cards of the products to be sent to customers, or drawings that serve for the welding book. then, sometimes, I must also draw small details, or make small changes, on existing pieces, all this on precise indication of the most experienced colleagues.
understand that I am working is not the maximum for one like me, who has a 20-year experience behind in design and design of complex machinery and plants for the heavy industry. I find it rather boring and not gratifying. The other thing that bothers me is that it would seem that I am at the disposal of all colleagues who need some kind of sketch, or change to drying designs. In practice, I am at the service of a dozen people who assign me tasks, without a precise organization and without anyone establishing priorities. I often happen, for example, to start a drawing, which I must immediately interrupt, because a colleague arrives who needs a more urgent design and then I suspect that I was doing to start drawing, but while I am doing this here comes another colleague again, who gives me an even more urgent job and so...via. sometimes it is all a pile of tasks, a overlap of drawings, which in the end I do not understand anything.
I have always worked on a project of a car, or plant. which in practice developed from the beginning to the end. I designed complex machines where inside there was heavy carpentry, mechanics, hanging on board tire machine, oleodynamics and combustion gas. protection tanks, walkways stairs, movements with hydraulic cylinders and tires. . .I sum up a stimulant work all round, never boring and repoetitive.
the current job, however, is all the opposite. of positive is that the azieenda where I work now is very solid ecnomicly speaking and the invoice grows continuously for several years. the salary is definitely good, with prospects of growth, between prizes, shots and increases of the metalmechanical contract. In addition, the current employer insisted on me a lot, but did not specify what my task was.
Now I have received another proposal of work as a designer of machines and impainti, what in short pleasurebeb to do to me, only that this other company is a much smaller, artisan company, than that in which I work today and I do not know its economic money. the tipendium would be the same as what I perceive now, but a good part would consist of the absorbable superminimum, this means that for many years it would always remain stuck on the same figure.
Now I don't know what to do: I should like to say that we are not in a position to do so.
I could go out again when I want from the current company, but as I know the employer, who insisted so much for me, I said that it would hurt us if I go so far in white and even this thing a little slows me down.
What would you do for me? Thank you!

First I would attend a course to improve the synthesis capacity... jokes aside, you were too prolific and I confess that in half a message I stopped reading. from what you say, if you feel you have learned something, look for another place that is structured and not where you get to be a shopboy like you do now.

logically you work for money, but do something without passion will logo you, after 20 years of experience and make the stopper... if I can give you advice follow the channel on linkedin of maximum pink, an expert in human resources, some answers you find!

I write to have a consult to those who have experience, or simply to those who feel like giving me advice, to advise me on what to do.
I try to express my opinion on the subject by syntheizing, with your words, the three points you have highlighted:
1) Previous work- stimulant
- boring.
- repetitive
- unsatisfactory (for this you probably decided to evaluate alternatives)2) Current work- good relationship with the employer (he looked for you)
- satisfactory pay with growth potential
- firm economically and growing
- non-competitive and not well defined tasks therefore unsatisfactory3) new proposal- small company with organizational incognite
- Maybe stimulating work
- few certainties on a future economic improvement

with twenty years of experience in the tasks that you have listed I, without any doubt, would choose the second, current, option.
This is because you have only one point to take advantage but you have the chance to change the conditions.
I do not think that the employer has chosen you, with a consolidated experience, offering you an adequate pay to get you to work for which he could find others at a lower cost.
I think rather that, aware of the current method of work in that department, it has been realized that he needs a person with proven experience that modifies it making it more efficient or that, at least, gives him indications on how to improve it.
If you depend on a person in charge, you must ask for clarification on current tasks directly to the employer, otherwise you will see what you are doing and how, looking for alternative organizational solutions that you can propose to him; I think that's what you expect.
It is an opportunity to grasp to grow professionally, regardless of your initial tasks that are usually useful to take confidence with the environment (in the first company in which I worked, many years ago, technical engineers also made the first three months to mount before heading).
I would find it very exciting to follow the complete realization of the welding book, behind which there is a world and it is of great importance for the image of a growing company for which you could evaluate if your experience offers you the necessary skills, possibly integrating them with a course and, if so, propose you to the owner for its complete realization that, probably, is now entrusted to external consultants.
often there is not a job sewn on us as a dress made by a tailor but we must be, with our natural intelligence, to understand and change to our advantage the environment that surrounds us by taking the opportunities and expressing our ideas; This is what gives us advantage over the ia (artificial intelligence).

as usual words "sante", thanks for the contribution! In the present case, I think the situation is a little governed by anarchy, and maybe there's not even a boss, or if there is, it's not under conditions or has no capacity to coordinate a group. There is hope that change will come from above, be a newcomer, in operational, non-management positions, and try to change things can be counterproductive, both in the eyes of colleagues and those of the owner if it does not have the necessary mental opening. change in my way of seeing, must always start from above, then the "gregge", I apologize for the word, follow!

it is sufficient that the owner wants it, I speak for personal experience; after 15 years of experience in a structured and organized company, I was called in another with the same type of product but with a high turnover because the wall was constituted by the majority of: "it is always done so" and, in fact, the results were clearly disappointing.
the first step was to propose and organize a team (with the forehand) with monthly meetings where everyone could express themselves, declaring criticality and proposing or refuting and decisions made were submitted to the management for approval. in these cases you need to acquire the trust of colleagues to understand that you, last arrived, are not a threat to their professionalism but a resource and that by comparing your ideas with their you can help to improve their way of working too; in practice it is enough to do as coordinator because in the company, as in life, few love to expose themselves but many prefer to criticize. for this it is not necessary to be executives but it is essential to be patient and empathic and to understand in depth how the work of others impacted with their own highlighting the criticalities without that others intend them as criticism of their work.

They've come to know everything you write. management must be far-sighted and understand that the value of an organization comes from people.

Thank you for your answers.
So unfortunately I am not a strong, charismatic person. I would not have the strength, nor the communicative attitude, nor the attitude to rufianing, to hope to make career in the company. I am a remissive type of character, not diplomtic, that struggles a lot to impose its ideas, so I would say that arrived at the age of 50, I do not think I will ever career in any kind of company.
I would add that in the current firm, which you want to abandon, my pred excess in the same role lasted three months and that before, even less. So mine is a snooping desk of those roles a bit of a m... that maybe just an apprentice, or a boy at first experiences could accept for a few years, just to get a little experience. my salary rather high, for the role I play, derives precisely from the fact that the owner struggles to retain those who play this role and thus raised the salary.

If you say so, maybe the owner called you just for your characteristics, which for your own admission, are those of one that rather than assert their own reasons, you let go to this tran tran. I would come from there... everything is to see if your salary has become a prison. remember that at a good salary you get hired in a short time, while at toxic work no! indeed, the more time passes and the worse you feel. Then it also has great importance the economic stability of the company, of course. Another possibility is to have a letter of hiring from another company and then go to your current owner and put it with your back on the wall: or you make me do a little more noble work or I'm leaving.

As I have already expressed in my previous answer money is important, but there is something more in life, first your health, then your aspirations and passions, if we do a job just to camp and we look forward to stamping the tag we are in the wrong place! above all have self-esteem in yourself, we all have talents and shortcomings, no one is perfect. when someone hires you doesn't do it to do you a favor but it's the opposite, they need you.

what I said above is not aimed at the ambition of making careers but, simply, to make work acceptable or, if possible, rewarding in an environment as serene as possible and it is not about rufianage or other but committing to collaborate and understand the needs of others.
almost a third of our lives is lived in a working environment with others and if there are rancours, jealousies, frictions or dissatisfaction you can create a feeling of discomfort that makes you anxious to go to work and when you are you do not see the time that your turn ends.
after you have highlighted your character characteristics, to the question:
What would you do for me?
It is difficult to give you an answer that satisfies you because you do not know what your aspirations are. the very fact that you defined your first stimulating but boring and repetitive work makes you feel that you like a more dynamic job which contrasts with the description of your character:
I am a remissive type of character, not diplomtic, that struggles a lot to impose its ideas, so I would say that arrived at the age of 50, I do not think I will ever career in any kind of company.
and this surrender forces you to continue searching for something that satisfies you, but until you have been able to define what you are looking for exactly will be difficult to find it.
At this point I agree with those who suggested that you change, but this time I recommend that you explain well before what your position in the company will be, who you will depend on and what exactly your job will be, possibly also asking for information to some of your future colleagues.

You're right @face, a magazine of mine, thank you for highlighting it to me; I apologize to you @infallible_gf.
at this point I see the second part of my recent post with a simple statement: I would have stayed there.

What's best to do, I think you can only know...
if you need that money and you don't find alternatives valid from the economic point of view, ture your nose and continue like this, if instead you have the opportunity to look elsewhere, even in the face of a salary reduction then it changes.
Obviously with the debit puntualization that in Italy the technical professions hardly make career.

I am again tormented by a thousand doubts. because now I have a metalmechanical industry contract, while the proposal that has been made to me is with metalmechanical craft contract. yesterday I discovered that the metalmechanic craftsmen foresees almost two weeks less of rol permits, than the metalmechanic industry. I mean, can you confirm that? If so, it would be a good problem to have so few permits.

Thank you for your answers.

However, it is strange that a company that has a valid designer (very rare market) underutilizes it to do the through between workshop and technical office, which could be used as an intern of some educational institution. You tried to ask to spend a designer, even on a payroll?

Unfortunately in the company where work does not exist the figure of the designer, since the type of products realized have been on the market for many years, with few variations, having now reached a degree of evolution and maturity, difficult to improve. we make only very small modfiche and very small improvements, that no wonder what work of design. or make small changes to improve the production process. the development from zero of new projects is very rare and with very long timelines. for this there is no figure of the designer-designer in this company.

that is the least...the problem then is that the contracts "crafts" have wages of about 15-20% lower at equal level

I've done my scleta. I'm staying where I am now.
what made me decide not to change is that this month, for the metalmechanical industry, snaps the increase in the salary for recovery on inflation, so... money dares money! I also believe that we are at the beginning of what could become a new economic and employment crisis as it was in 2010. there are many negative signals in this regard: factories closing, orders falling. industrial production that has fallen for over a year, in fact it has recorded yet another sign negative. So I think it's not time to pursue your professional soddfisfaction, but you have to get what's right. I'll wait for a better chance to change.
