Hello everyone, I would like to know how to implement an ipe or cmq beam any profile in ansys.
What kind of element among those in the guide should I use?
when I see the structure on display.. will I see some ipe...or the features of the chosen element with the props of the ipe in question?

Help me.

Thank you.

open design modeler, pull a line (or import it from cad  ) create a section (ipe/quello you want) and the check to the line you designed (aware of the orientation of the axes of the line and section)...(img1)

enter the mechanical and you will see your beam :d (img2)

(1)

(2)by default il wb usa beam188 per la mesh. . .

but is this design model another program?

design modeler is a tool that you find, if fired, in the workbench to "manage" geometry. .

Surely you can do the same with the classic, but I can't help them...

You're right! I never noticed! In fact there is this tool called "design modeler"...the problem is that I don't know how to use it (I didn't even know the existence!)......but cmq this shed I have to design it with the classic anesys(ansys multiphysics)...and already I am doing it, only that I snn many lines of code to write and then to have to turn.
from what I have seen from you...maybe the tool you use...it should be much easier and quicker to use, at this point I arise a question: but the shed wanting I could also do it with ansys wb using the design model?
if the answer is affirmative...the results of the analysis of the stresses that receive the structure with loaded data. Would they be the same in both ansys wb and classic ansys?

Thank you. .
Let me know as soon as possible...:finger:

with a workbench anesys in theory you can do everything you do with the classic (where the functions of the wb do not come you can enter the same commands of the classic). .

the solutor is just the same....with wb saving time on many operations but you do not have control of everything as with the classic (double-cut weapon if the experience is not so much). .

Current situation(I’m working on classic ansys): I finished the whole structure, I assigned all the properties to the various beams... and now I go into the environment /solu... and then I type solve... and then:

*****! It doesn't solve my structure! ! !
on the contrary I go into the real program (the one that looks like a kind of black dos... all in short)...and I observe that it gives me this error:

" cp= 11,719

a ratio of end moments of inertia or areas or element 3 highers 10.0 .
check real constant table 1. "

I don't know what that means.
I'm breaking my head on what I can have wrong. I have reviewed the moments of inertia that I have assigned and nn I can find the bandolo of the matassa....help me:36_1_4:

I'm still crying... I can solve the problem... if there's anyone who understands and has good heart? :frown:
