I would have a more trivial question...

it is possible to have the background of the black table and the colored lines
instead of white with all black lines?

... is really annoying .. in the menus' I don't find options (I have vrs.11.2)
I do not think it is possible , you can only change the background and colors in the environment 3d...

Hi.
p-h

1) is it bidirectional?
Yes, with solidworks, in the sense that it exports in sldprt/sldasm format. If you can use parasolid.
2) Does it also import features or only raw geometry?
only geometry, at least with solid edge files. there are commands for direct editing (face post, radius change, region delete, etc).
3) is it able to import non-graphic info associated with 3d parts (codes, materials, treatments, etc)?
no, at least with solid edge files.
4) Does it matter the assemblies?
Yes.
5) Does it matter the bonds together?

no
6) Does the boards also matter?

no
7) manages the jt format?
No.

I tried to import a fairly complex geometry between those I had available and everything went well (see attached image)

You're great!
I was answering, but you did better than me!
I just have to add that the development in the mother's house proceeds to frenetic rhythms (http://www.lista.it/alibre/alibre_new.html) and that we will be therefore grateful to all if you will signal basins or suggestions ensuring answer.
Thank you!

Well, then I'll start right away.
I often have to import 2d autocad designs. I did "import" both with dwg and dxf, but the software makes a mistake.

tried also with various versions of dwg and dxf, always the same mistake.

Thank you for reporting.
please send us in info@lista.it file and sequence of operations leading to error so you can replicate the problem and make a diagnosis.
in particular, import the dwg or dxf as sketch in the "part" environment to make an extrusion or try to import a 2d in 3d environment, or what else?
I remember that after downloading the software alibre, before this steps to the free express mode you have thirty days support on the professional mode. this allows you to open technical support cases directly in your mother's home, called "incidents" (required sign-in with username and password) by attaching the file to get explanations.
attention then that the free version of alibre, called alibre express, does not enable the converter of translate formats.

hello to all...I just bought the version of standard alibre, now that I am in own do not need a big cad and then the offer was very attractive. ...I must say however that it is a nice cad, certainly different from catia, solidworks and pro-e but for me it is valid..... construction 3d is intuitive and simple, the table clear and clean....I had only a problem on the assemblies.. .I can't find the wheel command piece to be able to spin it as I want...but I guess it doesn't exist... and then it stuck after loading 10 pieces...... but I have to say I'm quite satisfied with the purchase....yello to all. .

please send us in info@lista.it only 10 pieces that have caused problems? probably as in the previous case just update the directx. or, even if you have not signed an update and technical support contract, for 30 days from purchase you can open an incident by signing-in with username and password on www.alibre.com - in the next few days we will put other examples in http://www.lista.it/alibre/showcase.html but already there you find me with hundreds of pieces, try to see if you read them without problems.. .

I don't know if I understand your problem:redface: but in combination environment under tools -> wheel piece, put the tick and you should be able to orientate it as you want...

Hi.
p-h

for study list and preparation h...I bought the software a few days ago so, although I have a lot of experience on cad, I still have to know it, the axieme that gave problems I deleted it and remade....I did not open the maintenance contract because I would first see how the activity turns but later I will open it also because I would like to pass to the higher versions (crisis allowing).... as regards to rotate the piece in axiemi environment, as it says well.
