I press that I've never used pro/e and as a sw user I'm struggling with a problem
I have a file of a part created with sw, and since I should send it to a friend who uses proe I was asked to send him the step file
I don't know if it's possible to just save the file with other extension, not having checked if sw is able, or I have to create it and how

just that with your open file you do a "Save with name", and choose as a file type to save the "step". the only "accorgimento" could be to check if sw (which I don't know very well) has an export settings page in step, but usually with default settings is more than good for each software!
