Hello.
I have a dwg import problem in inventor.
work with inventor v8, in an attempt to import a dwg from autocad, introduces me the window, which I attach, in which I am told that the file is already open, close the application etc. etc.
but autocad is not open!
I've never been able to import a carcad design.
How do I do that?

thank you paolo

Good morning.
it was a problem that I had too, I solved (but not always worked) making a simple copy and paste from the design of autocad to the sketch of inventor,
attention with this procedure (I never understood why) imported sketch is in inches, you have to scale it /25.4.

This procedure I used on inv 10 I hope it goes also on 8.

Hi.
No, it's not the inch sketch, it's that you've probably set autocad on a hanging system.
go on autocad-> tools-> system.(the path could vary a bit depending on the version of autocad)
choose iso with scale 1:1 and you will see that when it matters it will already be to mm.

I would not like to say a nonsense, but it seems to me that this maneuver does not get angry with acad base, with mechanical definitely though.

you are right, but I assumed that those who have inventor have with the same package also mechanical and work normally with this...however, it seems to me to remember that on autocad base, you should be able to set at least in the "basic units", if to work in mm or inches...

_dddunits command and imposed in addition to precision also el unit of design
Yeah, you're both right.
especially tarkus:biggrin:

to import dwg into inventor it is good to paste copy but first you have to check the autocad variable "measurement" that allows you to carry in mm and"
