This morning I dealt with my first day of work (determined time)
I have already worked with ansys to prepare my thesis
This morning my manager gave me the whole package "ansys 12 " telling me that they purchased the license only 5 months ago but that no one until now installed it on the office machines.
And I believe... in my office there's only one gentleman working at the tecnigraph...

If I'm not a computer god, I'd like to figure out what I have to do to solve the problem.
I have exposed my problem to the retailer who tells me that the problem is not of ansys but of some program that is already stuck on my pc that refers to the same port 1055 (which is therefore to be already engaged )

if ansys was bought 5 months ago then the annual period of maintenance and technical assistance (tecs) is still active.
call your dealer (probably enginsoft), pass a technician and let you explain all the steps to do.
or in the installation dvd look for the "installation & system faqs" and follow it carefully.

I solved my problem: it's the windows firewall to create me some troubles with the license.
with the appropriate settings I managed to start the server.

hi to all....luigi your error message when you started ansys was like: " could not connect to any license server. the server is down or is not responsive..."???? If you could tell me how you started the program?? Thank you! !
 
the license server is not turning and the license is not the right one.
means you have something wrong.
the program does not leave if the license server does not work, so you have to look for what is that does not make you start that server

stupid question: did you only install ansys or even the license manager?

on the windows start menu go to the "ansys license manager" folder and start "server anslic_admin utility". click left on "view status/diagnostic options" and select "display license status".
