interchangeable publications

Hello everyone
I would like to ask you a disappointment about a subject and I will try to be as summarized and concise as possible.
then I have an example surface made by me on which I have to model a bracket that with the command "up to surface" ends on the surface adapting to its shape. then the purpose is what once this bracket is created I must be able to replace that sample surface created by me with a similar surface that is given to me and the bracket must automatically adjust.
I had thought to publish the surface made by me, paste it into the part of the bracket, shape the whole but in this way the utility is only there when I go to change my surface that then will make the bracket adapt once updated but my question is, how do I completely replace that surface published with another?

hi marco, I don't understand why you use the publication. in a similar case of dimensions and equal fixings but with different support surface, I limited myself to clone the dowel, then selected the old surface, dx button "replace" -> new surface. a kind of simplified power copy where the input is the new surface.
