Bye to all,
I am evaluating the necessary hardware, for inventor 2018 and I wanted to ask you a suggestion to orientate me.
In particular, I work with assemblies on 25000 pieces but for safety, I prefer to keep myself wide and therefore I would say 50,000 (you never know in the future)

they suggested a lenovo thinktation p320 tower with:

intel core processor i7-7700k from 4.2ghz 64bit
ram: 32 gb
disc ssd 512gb
graphics card nvidia picture p4000 8gb

I don't go on xeon, because I think I understand that cads don't use the multiprocessor yet.

Do you have suggestions? I would like to be sure before investing a healthy figure for the pc.
thanks to all

we have changed pc buying it from who also sells the cad.
we have suggested a hp z440 with xeon processor 3.70 ghz.
picture graphics p4000
all is very well, but consider that we do not have great assemblies.

study, idw and fea if not erro, should use multiprocessor, the rest goes on single, but I stayed at old versions I don't know if something changed (if there were budget problems.... goes to a non-framed video card, which does not make much sense to exist now to be honest)

the choice of the processor depends if you prefer the use cad or the use fem. for the first, I would certainly go for a very fast i7. then the 7700k or 8700k. while for the fem, if you exploit multicore, then better a processor that maximizes multi thread performance and perhaps then better a xeon.
I would worry about having the opportunity to expand to 64gb of ram in the future without having to replace it completely, so having two benches from 16 and two free benches.
the disk, if possible, of type m2 that has access speed much higher than a normal ssd.
for the video card, I only use picture, and given the number of pieces, I think the p4000 is centered. I use the p2000, but having the economic availability, I would have no doubt going up the level.
