inventor performance with 3 gb boot

Hello.
in a set of about 1500 parts (for now) I had the problem that the indicator of use ram (low to right) was fixed on the yellow part, I temporarily solved by modifying the boot.ini file with the 3 gb memory (as indicated by the guide), now it is about half.my concern though it is for the future, since in drawing the machine that we are making are just at the beginning (you will pass the 2000 inventor parts).
I read on the forums of people who work smoothly with assemblies of 10000 parts, but is there a trick to use with large assemblies? I have heard of virtual parts, but if I have understood how it works, it seems to me an absurd remedy because after (correct me if I am mistaken) the axieme is "locked" without possibility to animate constraints.

You could build derivative parts for each single group or do only the "skin" of individual groups so at least you don't have the internal parts.

is a bit more work and I lose the chance to animate the constraints, there is no solid edge system that, if not mistaken, makes you choose if you want to load the history of the parts or only the result. Of course the modification of the parts in the axieme does not work, but it seems to me a good compromise.

This morning, I agreed that the total available ram memory which is indicated by the performance indicator (low to right), is not 3 gb but 2,2/ 2.3 gb, I do not even understand why it varies. I am talking about total memory (used + available) indicated if it holds the cursor on the green indicator, to be understood.
Perhaps it is a set of windows (xp prof. 32bit) to assign more memory to the inventor application, but I thought with the modification of 3gb boot.ini was all in place. boh?

another thing, but you who number of parts together manage with inventor (2010 sp2), managing to work always decently? what is the maximum manageable number? solid edge give it to 220.000 parts , of course everything to prove since the speeches then take them away the wind:biggrin:

maybe with the detail levels you can only charge the resulate.for the change to boot you how many giga did you physically install ram?? ? Why if you don't have 4 giga of rams installed physically you can't change the boot doesn't apply.to interderci if you have 2 giga of rams installed physically and make the boot change this doesn't work.You tried to change the setting seems to me userva? ?
