I answer you like this:
1. depends on how much you want to spend. if you spend little you have little, this is economy!
2. all the various cads work well with their own extensions while conversions are always delicate. all export to dwg and dxf.
3. I had tested another two-dimensional cad type autocad that costs much less but with many limits and therefore I discarded it (I don't remember, I think it was intellicad).
4. depends on what you want to do.
5. solid edge 2d was not born for the 2d, if it was born as 3d and, in my opinion, for conversions behave egregiamente (as I told you yesterday in the discussion on the solid edge forum); Just try. If you want to become an export expert from yourself to dwg you have to bang your head and you don't need a few days. What are the comfortable commands you're talking about? You could try cocreate drafting

As I said, if you want free things, it's not that you can expect them to do everything as you want.

I tried progecad, a two-dimensional one based on intellicad and discarded it. It costs little but it is not worth how much autocad and for professional purposes it is necessary to rely on reliable tools.

autocad mechanical is a good two-dimensional with many functions for mechanics. I never bought it for that, too expensive and for the use I make of the two-dimensional I arranged differently.
I am now using autocad lt with an external application for mechanics. the name of this application is top and is developed by qsinformatica. I was reported by a forum user.
practically you find yourself on autocad lt all mechanical functions and costs much less.
in any case autocad lt + top cost together about 2,500 - 3,000 euros, they are anything but free.

free as obvious it is not there. the ptc/cocreate is doing a promotion for those who had downloaded modeling pe (I don't know if it is valid for those who do it now)....the promotion is around you have 1600 euro modeling/annotation license and in the package is also included drafting however you can feel a dealer I found myself well with those of the progressivo.

Have you tried to configure the export file?
in solid edge is seacad.ini
save by name and then click the options box
and configure
