Hello everyone!
I recently started using inventor 2008, I was asked to enter a particular (a grid like this) http://unimarine.jb.f-m.fm/j33photos/image069.jpg) in a 3d model of a hull generated with rhinoceros and imported into inventor.
I read here on the forum that in the sheet metal environment you can get a flat model on which to perform processing, so in my case the hole and application of the grid. But I understand that these jobs are not visible in 3d, right? and there is also the problem that my sheet is not developing so I always understand that inventor would not be able to spy on it.
Are there any news in this sense in the versions after 2008?

and if by chance with inventor it was not possible to get this result, can you suggest another software to try with?
thanks in advance for every suggestion!
ale

in 2010 you find some news in the sheet metal environment but nothing that can help you. as already said other times inventor manages to generate the flat model only of those plates that can be obtained with knife bending machines or die casting. If you have to get deformed sheets like car shells there is no way. to achieve the development of complex surfaces you can use the same rhino, then you care about the flat model in inventor and work there.
