Are you able to create an administrative image?
Maybe installdola from there will work.
It would seem missing something in the installer the symptoms look like those.
It seems to me that for 2009 there was a folder (in dvd) *****\solidworks admin\solidworks 2009 sp2.0\microsoft_vsta .
Turn that file.
It can also be that something in the os has been matched, it would be enough
refresh windows view.
