hi totem, that version of visi you should install without problems on xp, by sight, I have doubts, for 7 I fear the worst especially with 64bits. However if you can install and accept the pw, you will have a functioning but not up-to-date prg. ie pw (of those editions) does not expire, but v12 is stuff of 5 or 6 years ago, at least, and you will no longer find available on the site packages to update ( http://www.visicadcam.it/productdownloads ). If then someone still has them on the hard drive and passes them, maybe it's legal. and still you could update only with v12 patches, if you even find the v13 you would miss the pw...

regardless of all that, what modules did you find? Do you think you can use the cam part? If you have the postprocessors, do you think you can arrange for anything? because it is unlikely that you will actually send someone to do a training course: 1st they won't even know how to put their hands on us, 2nd they'll give you a little gun to upgrade. . .

However I seem to remember that you worked benign with the v12, then began the Pindaric flights. . .

for postprocessors, try to control inc:\visi12\postprocessorshould be at least 2 generic, for fanuc and heidenain. If you need personalised or specific control, try asking here, maybe you're lucky.
Unfortunately I am far away, so that my help will be minimal, probably. for those realases, I think I remember that they did not already do the paperwork, and we have to settle for the help.
Can't the company that sold you the sw package help you at least at the beginning? Did you know a bit of the visi or did you get it locked?

The company that sold me the program... He found it by buying a failed company... not using the software he proposed to me and I accepted, so I can't have any help from them... So I got it locked but the price allowed that decision!

I'm advised to literally review the individual commands you can find in the drop-down menus. and take off.
in file there are the usual commands that come from win, of course.
if I do not remember badly, that the layout has varied little, in the various editions:
the 2nd menu should be edita, and contains all commands to move, rotate, scale, iron, break, etc. geometric elements 2d, coarse, and many also apply to 3d.
3rd, wireframe, has the controls to create all 2d geometric elements, from the points to the mathematical curves, to the profiles that maybe wear in the cam.
then there should be menus for solids and surfaces, if the pw activates those modules; then the commands to edit solids and surfaces (join, subtract, ..., collect edges, revolutions) etc.
then there should be a menu for texts, quotas, sampling, management of "symbols" ( entity 2d that saves as models in a specific folder of faces and calls to the occurrence), etc.
then there must be the menu with the global parameters of the prg. and that for the processing (but it has been too long so, if you can to the occurrence post of the saws), etc., etc., etc.
I don't remember how much crashed (brrr), so take it easy to do serious things at the beginning.
You may have already noticed that the lower screen bar, on the left, proposes suggestions to the commands you are using (m2 is the right mouse button). while on the right there are three dark boxes. if you click on the styles (colors etc.) of what you draw and you can customize them a bit from there. 3 boxes can be 5 or 10 if you need, just customize from the system menu.
