hello to all; the question that oppressed me for some time is to be able to adjust quickly (or better to limit) the length of a bevel for welding on an open pocket profile as from attached image.
practically the bevel must be performed only partially.
now as I have now performed a sweep cut, but it turns out to be quite laborious, since I have to repeat it by hand on each pocket.
thanks to those who can give me a straight

but the bevel that has the edge where it ends... I would say that you do not realize it of friez.. .

However on the modeling side do a pocket and make the bevel. do a sketch where you put some stitches and then do the repetition of dots or sketches and put your n pockets on the cylindrical body. change the first, change all.

Good morning to all
About bevels...
I can't understand how to make in solidvorks a uniform bevel of 45° (or other angle) on a hole (diam 128) made on a tube (diam 323.9 thickness 9.52).
if I apply the 45° to the function and increase the distance until the bevel does not "carry away" all the perpendicular wall to the tube (made with an extruded cut) realizes a diameter of the beveled hole, internal face side of the tube, greater than the nominal quota. . .

enlighten,
Meanwhile, thank you for reading me... .

good design. .

This is obvious on a cylindrical face. the "perpendicular floor" does not have the same thickness on all circumference (which wraps on the tube, is not flat). it is physically impossible to achieve a uniform bevel; by setting the maximum thickness the hole "widens", with the minimum thickness instead the bevel would not end "to zero" on the sides.

How are you going to do that by car, the bevelous one?

greetings
Marco:smile:

I should make it with a 45° angle cutter. . I wanted to draw it and then pass it to solidcam.. but if not the design it touches me pass all the coordinates with autocad...

solution? . . .
I think about it, but I'm not coming. .

Hello and thank you. . ! !

Do you repeat your pockets or do one by one?
if you repeat them, put in the repetition also the cut with sweep.
