locate in a dwg file the type of application used

Since I am curious, they send me various dwg which I suppose have been made with autocad applications, I would like to know precisely what... is it possible from a file or from the layers of the dwg to trace to the type of application used or program? ps: the drawings are in 2d.

I do not think it is possible from the dwg, it should be checked the existence of xdata and smooth, but also finding them is not said that the name of the application that created them is available.
While there may be chances for layers, several applications apply special prefixes, knowing them.. .
