hello, it's been a while since I hear everyone talking about this technology that will revolutionize ... easy ... blah blah...
I have watched and studied countless video tutorials/unboxing/upgrading/... on yt and attended a micro-printing course in a mo fablab that sincerely brought me back with feet on the ground in the sense that they had a wasp4070 that took a lot of time to create a spit of mediocre quality object ... but in the end I did not understand well if this is a technology suitable to all or only for the house slender that repairs the handle to the best with the printer from €100 car

I would therefore like to be able to meet a low-level printer user (200/900€) to see what can really be achieved, in decent times and costs, in terms of finishing quality, mechanical resistance, etc.

I would then like to buy a basic printer (200/900€) to make the first experiences in the office/workshop with bushings, spacers, thicknesses, heads, .. various minuteries that we currently make of turning/freshing/lamiera, so as to test on the field the real characteristics and the potential offered by 3d printing, but with a minimum safety in succeeding to set, tarare, ....
In short, look for "friend" with which to slew with the first projects,
of course in the modena or limitrofe area, obviously paying the disorder : )

I'm not moderate and my experience is negative.
with my son we bought a printer two years ago, thinking, he, to make us wonder that and I print some piece, part of what project.
We're never, and I'm never underlined, managed to finish a piece.
the printer was in kit, currently costs from 550 to 700 eurozzi depending on the preparation, we mounted it perfectly, calibrated with comparison and then began to change material of the plan, glass, mirror, crystal, board (!), nozzles, hot-end ...
Now it's stopped for a lifetime and there's no desire to put our hands back on us or, less, we feel the need, we regret the money spent and we wonder what it really needs.
A friend bought it and finished it, spent less and, when he was printing, it wasn't wrong.
He also made me some prototypes of stuff we had to try, some piece for him and now he's like "ciapapuer" at his house, just like mine.
If one has nothing to do, it's okay, but as soon as you have another interest...
boh, next time we think about three times.

I am 'born', professionally speaking, with the rp (rapid prototyping) in the far 1995 so almost 23 years ago.
I have made many pieces to evaluate the aesthetics, after sanding and painting, to evaluate the assembly, being careful not to spoil the piece, the encumbrances and so on.
I currently make some laying, which does not show who knows what efforts and precision and a few other pieces, mainly to see if they fit.
low price miracles have never existed.
as you could use various types of materials, finishes and so on that a single machine can not make you recommend to contact specialized companies.

hi ceschi1959, thank you for sharing, in my case I do not seek miracles, of course that if this technology, as it seems to be for me right now, compels me to map/paint/advertise me to specialized companies, ... in short to "spend more" to get the same results of my dear turning machine with cnc then for my needs this technology is failing or still acerba.
This is exactly what I would like to experiment with "the friend" of the area mentioned above: astronomical solutions to obtain my trivial pieces from specialized companies have already been discarded: I can't afford them and they don't make sense to me.

My experience is negative.
never, managed to finish a piece.
the printer was in kit
now it is firm and we wonder what it takes

I take back what I wrote a few minutes ago answering cecchisandrone: forget to be able to make simple objects in 3d printing at lower cost than that of a cnc. the key concept is: "with 3d printing complexity is not paid" but it is true that if there is no complexity there is no convenience... .
However, it is impossible to follow the evolution of this technology: Now it is in the initial phase (even if I saw a demo in germany in 89, when I still had all my hair...) , the curve of evolution rises still very quickly and if you buy a printer today with delivery to 60 days, before you receive it is exceeded!. I certainly recommend using specialized companies, there are already many in Italy. your fun will not be to see pieces made well-but-not-very good by a 4-5000 € printer in your lab, but to see you get in 4-5 days your perfect pieces, made by professionals with 200-300.000€ machines, to which you only had to upload on the site your cad file, the quantity you want and the material and/or the finishing you want. then let them do and have fun instead design design design pieces that maximize the advantages of 3d printing. There you can really make a difference.
