I am a mechanical designer, I worked for hanni with the proe and recently I went to the version creo w5 m130, to adapt to the format of our customers.
to optimize the work, to put on board similar components (each having a different 3d, but born anyway from the same features), our practice has always been
that of having a master drawing file complete with quotas and notes, with which the drawings of the various details are realized, from time to time associating with the different 3d created.
Usually if everything went to good end it was enough to regenerate the design and everything resize correctly, in other cases it was enough to re-edit the jumped quotas, and to recreate the sections jumped to
to have a little time back the correct design.
all this up to the w4 version, but with the current this "game" does not work anymore, as opening the drawing file with the new 3d (obviously renamed compactly to the .drw file) the result almost always is the loss of quotas, especially
the new ones made with the w5, while the existing ones of the w4 always remain.
do you have any idea to help me solve the problem, do you think there is some parameter in the configuration that typically cancels the odds?

I admit that what you write is not entirely clear to me... if you can try to explain better about the steps of how you manage the creation of these new files, generate them with the "save copy..." or otherwise?
on the incompatibility between wf4 and wf5 I can't help you because I didn't make that version pass.
I can still try to give you advice, for what is worth little, when opening a drw I find odds in error that no longer find attacks, it is definitely more correct and quick to select it and redeploy the attacks instead of canceling it and doing it again.

I fully agree.
The problem I highlighted is definitely a hole in version 5.
I have tried alternatives to my way of working, but since so far they have not given me any positive outcome, in the end I have recreated my project "master" with the w5, so that I can use it in the future for other projects.
method:
all starts from a .prt file, which contains the closed quilts (ground union) of reference, piece square, puncture, other.
each particular of assembly, is created using these references (they are imported through an external geometries copy, and solidified)
In this way if I have several similar assemblies, just copy the master (first complete assembly), and changing the name you create others.
in this way, with the w4 in most cases in the drawing, the quotas were not lost, now with the w5 the majority of the quotas are lost and it is necessary to give them back.
The problem we've seen is the change of the file name, only that by now the 3d I've already completed it and finally agreed to remake the drawings from scratch.
