Bye to all,

I tried to create a macro to save a .ipt file in a .step file, without any correct result.
I would also like to save copy the .step, .pdf, .dxf formats in the right folders;

the structure, to the old way, that I am using to manage a whole machine is having a general folder with inside the project file and with inside various folders (ipt, idw, stp, dxf, pdf, ipn..).
So, what I try to say, is that I would like to save these formats in the path of my part, changing the word "ipt" in the path and replacing it with the word "stp" for the step, "dxf" for the dxf, etc..

would be perfect if they were 3 different macros for the 3 extensions mentioned initially

Thank you very much in advance for any help

look also in programming operations, surely there is the step, but also find dxfs and dwg (to be configured), and other operations that might come back useful. I use it regularly without thinking too much about third party applications when I already provided everything from autodesk.

Hi.
the advantage of such apps is that they can be used by selecting a file together and automatically exporting all content

programming operation works on the single file or entire folder, so if you have to export a "machine", you are forced to first generate the pack&go of all 3d and 2d files (.idw) on single folder (no hierarchy) and then use programming operation.

with the apps mentioned above, you can select a set and then he will manage the "sons"

That's true.

Unfortunately I do not find the command programming operations, I have inventor 2016 base, not professional.

Also I can't do it for all files, because at the time of making orders, I can't send files that don't need (step serves the millers and turning, while dxf only for laser cut pieces)
