management of parameters between product and part

hello to all I have a problem with catia v5, I hope someone can help me.
in a product containing some parts bound together (e.g. with offset) I want to insert a new part and once the sketch is created, I would like to associate the extrusion share of the new part with the offset bond I set in the product.
In this way all the times I change the offset bond also changes the extrusion length of the new part created by me.
I tried with "tasto dx  modifies the formula" and then I clicked the offset bond on the tree or directly the quota.
when I try to change the offset distance in the product and amage, the prism that should have the function symbol does not change, so there is no connection.
I hope I've been clear and someone can help me.

sei sicuro che l'opzione "keep link with selected object" sia attivata?

(tools/options/infrastructure/part infrastructure/general).
