mass connector

I can't connect the two cylinders:
- if design or select a cylinder face with an extrusion path tells me - impossible to create element of form-
- if design or select a cylinder face with an axis, I get a bull.
How can I do that?

to me not from any problem select the face of a cylinder and the path....this is the procedure I followed.

designed the path and broken into 3 parts.
tracked the two floors perpendicular to the ends of the route line.
designed on the respective floors the circumferences (sections of cylinders)
created the two cylinders
selected the face of a cylinder and the remaining part of the path.
It creates form, and it has told me.
