mating shaft-mode with dependence of parts

Hello.
I'm asked to create a shaft-mode coupling with a key as product. I must create a "reference" part in which to create the sketch of the circumference of the tree, so as to use it for the tree and hub parts and thus create interdependence between the dimensions of one and the other. I tried but when I change the circumference in references, the other two geometries do not update. Can anyone help me?
