I had the same problem a few days ago, looking on the internet I had found a registry key change to restart the holes

below
hkey_current_user\software\autodesk\inventor\registryversion 18.0\system\preferences\part
go to useexceltoreadthreadfile and change the value from 0 to 1

I honestly don't even know what the change does, but it worked...
now I try to put it back as before and uninstall the above update of windows
