modeling advice

hello to all is little that I entered the world of catia and would like to ask you some advice about modeling complex staff like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/rossano4d/3921764005 .
In particular, I would like to know what is the major module with which to make the model and which is, in cases like these, the starting point for the modeling and strategy to follow.

Usually a model of this type is confronted with solid modeling and normally the starting point depends on the context in which the particular is placed, so it is up to you to understand what are the basic elements that define the topology of the particular (normally I take for reference of bearing locations or particular jokes etc...).
