hi, I would need to work on a stl file that has ailments .

I would like to eliminate them and I would also like to change the surface by cutting some parts.

with the cutting plan tool I managed to select the part that interests me but I failed to get a file with the only portion that interests me.

I was able to see the series of triangles that shape the surface but I did not understand how to modify it/delete it/sculp it. . .

Can someone give directions or link some tutorials?

Thank you.
Hi.

working a stl with rhino?

for my personal experience is a bloodbath.
better opt for another software.

Bye.
Thanks for the answer, which sw advice?
with those you use, would you be able to make some changes?
Thank you.
Hi.

Bye.

for this: with the cutting plan tool I managed to select the part that interests me but I couldn't get a file with the only portion that interests me.

Can anyone give me an answer?

Hi.

you could try to create a surface that closes the hole created by the cut then transform it into mesh.
But it's practically impossible to get a solid closed, so you can print it, then you have a sw that can correct the mesh by smoothing it by closing the holes.

but is it a very complex piece?
I often remodeled everything in surfaces rather than losing a life to try to correct a stl.
