modernize a pmi

Hello, everyone.
I would like to discuss the subject.
I will soon have to advise a small carpentry, which has nothing to do with it... coding it for warehouse or drawings or programs cad.
I received the input to put on a basic management system, starting from the modeling of the historian or new products through creoe.
I will have to collaborate with a person who has recently begun to use the cad for this company (a license they have).
you want to get to have the distinct ready for purchases and sales as god commands... all this is exciting because I have never started from scratch, so it is also a professional challenge.
I already have a lot of ideas in my head, but I don't want to be too much for the beginning.
I am not sure, but I think there will be only creo and not the pdm, assuming this, I would also like to decide a proper coding coming to the point of creating drawings with the complete table of distinction, exporting it to a file excel complete of all sublivellis of distinct.
Do you think it's enough to export to .csv and import into manual excel? I would like to facilitate the procedure as much as possible. I had in mind to create macros that already open the complete and formatted excell as I want, but I am not practical with bees.
you who recommend me?

I have seen that there are already some discussions about this. qui, but I don't know if you like resuming old posts... now I've posted them...you see if you eliminate this discussion. . I don't think I can. Thank you.

Hi.
.csv files are fine, remember also that you can use the distinct bom, for the macros ... why not, but are not influential details.
I suggest you start organizing really important things right away, like managing folders where to insert various projects, common details, commercials, distinct bases, prints etc.

Sorry I didn't grab... what do you mean I can use the distinct bom for macros?
and anyway I knew today that the cad program to use will be solid edge... but tried... we will also undertake this...

better for you, it's more semplicable to set up. in case you ask the mod to move the discussion.

I meant this:
... also remember that you can use the distinct bom.

but they are not influential details. ....

even if change falls the organizational problems remain

I carry my personal experience:

I have created a macro that from pro/e exports me the bom in csv, I print the design in pdf and finally saves the table.
for the organization of the basic distinct, in the absence of pdm, I created a catalog in excel format with a series of hyperlinks that point to the technical documentation of project. in this way any member of the company can access this interactive catalog: to the resp. of the production affect the constructions of the pieces to be put in the machine, to the shop the bom of the materials to make the prices, to the assembly department interests the design exploded with the assembly sequence, to the comm.le and uff. quality affect the technical characteristics of the products etc...
the extra-cad part of course is manual. I open the csv with excel, connect cells to the distinct base of the product (which is located in a separate excel file and formatted properly), then I put in place the links pointing to the drawings in pdf. in case of change in cad environment just reopen in excel the newly reexported csv file and the tables of the products are automatically updated.
to help me in multiple operations of export drawings, which risk becoming rather repetitive, I help with creo distributed batch (including in the basic license). once configured and started work in the background at cad off (maybe during lunch break). if drawings during design undergo modifications it is enough that I program this software with multiple exports and so new designs replace the previous ones.
Obviously the previous designs should not be concealed, because the iso-9000 requires to retain the previous releases when substantially changing the design purposes. . so if I have to intervene "heavyly" with some changes I have created a macro (always inside pro/e) that makes me the "salva-copy" of model and table in a folder that is called "superied". I prefer to manage the previous versions within the technical department only in the cad environment, this to prevent confusion in other sectors of industry.

Maybe this work-flow is not perfect and does water at some point, but at the moment I would say it works. definitely over time will be to better automate the extra-cad part of excel.

to the gentle moderators. ..can you move in solid edge section? Thank you.

to start is not bad as an idea...in fact it is like I would do more or less... one thing... but the distinct if I wanted to represent it exploded, but with the indication of the level of belonging which is the fastest road? from the .csv of a table bom table even if I had to explode the assemblies and export it, the position would be at one level. ..I would like to maintain a father/son link between codes...

solid edge has the report generation function, which does what you ask, that is, it also exports the levels.
