I modified a set of blocks for needs related to excel
I mean, I took the original block and then I exploded it to erase unnecessary attributes and change the scale and insertion point.
all right here in fact the block is inserted correctly without problems.
But now I have this problem.
in a form of excel-vba, I entered control dwgthumbnail
with the right code I display the original blocks but not those modified by me

in the drawing in question invokes the block icon command (blockicon in English) to update the preview of the blocks.

the command I had indicated was to use within a design that contained your blocks and not in the single 'block' as you did.
try zoom extension and save the individual blocks you have modified again to get an updated preview.

if you want you can attach the files in a zip.... However I did not understand if dwgthumbnail some files still displays them.
if so could be linked to the version of the dwg file that before the version of autocad 2013 saved the previews in bmp format and from 2013 in png that perhaps is not recognized by dwgthumbnail

go to advanced message mode and attach them within the forum rather than with external sites

try to save 'non-original' files in pre-2013 version. use the save command as and choose below in 'file type' a version 2000, 2002 etc.
as mentioned earlier it is very likely that the ocx control "dwgthumbnail" does not support the new dwg file format.

I followed the good Dominican advice and did:
- inserted block on new sheet
- zoom extensions
- "block icon" command
- saved as *.dwg 2010
and as a result. . .I think it's quite satisfactory.
