I have a problem with the modification of two components that are contained in different assemblies.

These two components have been modified a few days ago (longed the compass to a compass and lengthened a pin) but while I was about to make these changes to the parts, I realized that all the old assemblies where these parts are inserted would be updated with the new changes and my problem is precisely this... I would like the old assemblies to contain the unmodified parts and the new ones that have the 2 parts with the relative modifications.

Is there a solution to this problem or a logical method of saving files?
