Hello, everyone.
I have to diversify the color of the faces of an imported part between external and internal faces for a later render.
is there the possibility of a selection through a rectangular trap or in some other way?
I tried in every way, changing filters and selection methodology but I can only take geometric entities (cracks, surfaces) but not solid faces.. .
Do you have any advice?
I use v5r21.
Thank you.

if it is a solid you have to select faces with a click on each (no window traps unfortunately)

instead if they are surfaces you can use window traps, then in your case just extract the outer surface (and the colors), then extract the inner surface (and the colors)

for extraction depends a lot on the geometry of the piece, if the division has living edges, when you extract from the continuity of tangency and that stops on the edge.

thanks gianni, unfortunately I work only on solids.
then I will patiently select all faces.. .

Good evening.

I've never tried.
at the end of modeling, you could try to save in igs then reopen it. Maybe you get all surfaces.
