Thank you for reporting. I really want to get mecha salome back in my hand.
If I left now maybe I would use freecad + calculix. learning how to use meca salome was really hard, and now I don't want to throw away that heritage that I've built, but maybe a little bit of thinking about changing the environment would.

ciao @cacciatorinoI withdraw on this post just to understand the reason for your reasoning since I wanted to also look at the open-source fem calculation as an alternative or complement to the classic solidworks.
I haven't installed anything yet and so I wonder if it would be better to start with code-aster (there are various courses in Italian on youtube) or as you claim to start with freecad+calculix immediately.
without urgency... Thank you.

I don't know how to answer, maybe learn calculix is difficult as code-aster. If I'm not mistaken, though, being better integrated into the cad is a little easier to write the command file in semi-graphic mode.

Thank you for the answer, I will try to understand the best way considering that I come from the solidworks fem.

reading this, I figured you had evidence on both environments.

Actually, the freecad fem part looked at her very quickly, but I thought nothing could be harder than having to learn salome-meca, on which I invested a lot of time.

All right, I got it.
so maybe considering the little time available and that in the office are not seen of good eye free software I will dedicate myself when I am retired. :roflmao:

If you want, I'll give you a few salome-meca files so you look at them and you don't start right from scratch. Try to look at the aster code forum too: you should find many examples (it's the way I followed to learn the software), you find me as a "cacciatorino" also there.
