node beams

good evening to all are new in the forum.
I have a knot consisting of 3 beams, (2 emerging and 1 thick) and 1 pillar.
the problem is that I can't cut a portion of beam that protrudes.
Can anyone help me?
I'm at first and I still have a lot to learn
