Hello everyone,
I happen this in some ipt files downloaded from the internet (native files or step files saved as ipt):
If I do a "Save Name" (idem "Save Copy Name") of a file, the saved file keeps in the browser the name of the source file, while the number part I read in iproperties is
rightly the name of the new file.
when you go put the file obtained with the "Save Name" in a set you find it again in the browser along with the old name.
Sure, I can rename it in the browser of the part, but this thing not to report the file name remains.
Does anyone know how to fix it?

Hello tarkus,
I don't know if I understand your problem well, but I recommend you check the "number part" of the new file inside the "project" tab of iproperties.
I noticed that it always keeps the name of the original file and I always go to change it manually with the name of the new file.

I hope I helped you.

Hi.

yes, in the "project" of iproperties, the name is the right one, that is the one with which I saved the file name; but the problem is another:
in the browser the name remains the old one, which seems to lose the property's "filename", besides I repeat, if this file I put it together, I do not find the name of the file but the name of the previous file.
example.
file called "a",
I save it by name by calling it "b".
in the new file I find myself with:
in project" of iproperties: number part= "b"
in the working browser (top) the name remained "a".
I repeat, he loses the ability to assume the name of the new file.
you can also do a test with an ipt file:
click 2 times (not fast) on the file name in the browser and rename it, then save it with another name and go see what you have in the new file... .

tarkus by chance is that in the general file you used the "rename browser nodes" in part number?

no, the problem together I discovered it after...and this problem I have always had, I mean also with previous versions, obviously in reference to files downloaded from the various online libraries (cadenas, solid components, autodesk manifacturing,etc....)

Have you tried to look in iproperty in the custom section which name you have?? ? there is all the list where there should also be the name given to the design that maybe is different from what you saved.

Yes, I looked. There's a set of properties that report the original name of the file, I tried to rename them with the new name, Nisba, I deleted them, nothing yet.
If I do a new file of healthy plant, it is not that I find the file name in the custom properties, so those are properties added by the author who need it for reminders or to be recalled in the cartiglio etc; it seems that they do not affect the ability to assume the name of the file.... .

There he is.
is a file obtained by saving the original file called
"taper-spannbuchsen 62250430".
As you can see, in the top browser, continue to remain the original name of the file instead of the name I gave to the new file....

tarkus did not forget me quiet.ieri I did some tests but it is as you say nothing changes.adesso in the weekend I try others, only that I know so strange that nothing changes.io I use 2010, 2011 I am installing it just today .)

tarkus here I am and I apologize for the delay. I did several tests but nothing.Today there was also assistance at our headquarters and I submitted the question also to them and they told me that this thing has always been so. so the only way is to rename directly from the browser.

Okay, thank you for involving assistance even though what they gave you is a response to their standard that often conceals the fact that they don't know how to do it.
Anyway, I did some rehearsals myself, I didn't solve anything, and I confirmed that if you rename the file name in the browser, even of "home-made" files, the ability to assume the "file name" in the case of saving by name...

found the way

- open your compass file (or any other .ipt file to which you renamed the name in the browser)
- click on the name in the browser 2 times as you said to activate the name change
- deletes the name (just empty field)
- by sending
- will take the file name
- if you save copy with another name everything goes to place:wink:

better than assistance

er... I knew that by force of debris we would awaken the great Ilario dragon that would find the solution. .:finger:
Thank you.
