Good evening,
I often come across a dilemma "make a section oriented according to a well defined angle, or according to an off-set known along the x axis y, or a combination of the preceding" starting from a base point.

Unfortunately I lose myself in the myriad of parameters to be inserted in the section command.

I would need clarification. thanks in advance.

nothing simpler: a way can be to create a view with the orientation you want, for example trimetric, to make a section from the view you believe and at the point you believe, mouse button dx while you put it down and you appear the section orientation>inherit option and choose the view you have done (that trimetric to understand us) that you can then delete.
other option for offset sections at odd angles: I create sketches of support in the drafting model (attention not in drafting) in a plan that I first visible and then invisible in the view.
The help still explains these things.
